How to Remove Yourself From BeenVerified

BeenVerified is the lead brand of a family of people-search sites run by The Lifetime Value Co., and its reports bundle your addresses, phones, relatives, and more. The opt-out is free and reasonably quick, with two catches their own pages admit, so read those before you start.

The steps

  1. Open the opt-out search at beenverified.com/app/optout/search.
  2. Search for your record by first name, last name, and state, and select the one that is you; with a common name, match on age, cities, and listed relatives before deciding.
  3. Enter your email address, tick the human-verification box, and submit. A verification email arrives; click its link.
  4. Wait for the confirmation email saying the record was opted out. Their page says the removal takes effect within about 24 hours after that.

What they ask for: a name-and-state search, an email address, and a checkbox-style human verification. Their FAQ states plainly that no account and no payment are ever required.

The two catches, in their own words

One record per request. BeenVerified's FAQ says the online tool removes only one record. If you find duplicates or old-address listings, email privacy@beenverified.com to have the extras removed.

People Search only. They warn your name “might appear in search results for the other search services available through BeenVerified even after you opt-out.” Property search has its own opt-out mode on the same page.

The family: one opt-out does not cover it

The Lifetime Value Co. also runs PeopleLooker, NeighborWho, Ownerly, PeopleSmart, NumberGuru, and Bumper. Some guides claim one request clears them all; the sites themselves say otherwise. BeenVerified states “we can only remove the records from our own site,” and PeopleLooker runs an identical but separate flow. Plan on repeating the same five minutes on each sibling that shows your name.

What this does and does not do

The opt-out hides your record from BeenVerified's People Search. The underlying public records, the sibling sites, and other brokers are untouched, and a new record that does not match your suppressed one can appear later, so re-check in a few months.
